It's always fun to see another Burns/Smithers shipper! I started shipping Burns/Smithers after looking for fanfiction and art of them and being disappointed that there was so little of it years ago, though most of what I did find was good. Unrequited love is just so interesting, especially with the level of devotion that Smithers has. XD That Burns doesn't seem to realize it most of the time is sort of sad and funny at the same time.
Awwwwww! They're utterly, absolutely precious! Love handles~ I'm a total sucker for 'em. And Smithers' sweet face; the glasses falling down a bit looks natural instead of like he had too much caffeine (when they're off, it looks really weird to me). And Burns; damn him for being so cute while still being so evil. You've captured that aspect of him so well.
I wish Smithers would wear his hair unstraightened/unstyled as an adult.
Thanks! It's one of the first pictures I posted of those two so I can see how I have improved a little since then.
Yes, he doesn't look like Smithers without his glasses. Sort of like taking the glasses off of Harry Potter. It just doesn't seem the same! As for Mr. Burns, I always say that the cute ones make the best evil villians!
You have definitely got the Simpsons style down now! Even in earlier stuff, it was almost perfect. Funny how it seems like they'd be easy to draw.
Has Burns ever worn glasses? I can't remember seeing him with any. It would be extremely cute! I don't understand why everyone (almost) on the show calls him ugly. Okay, I can see he's not sexy, but he's just too cute.
I loved this part in the story. And you are the best at writing Burns. It must be very hard to write him not too evil but not too nice, especially in a romantic light. I love his poems to Smithers!
Aaaah, whenever I see this, I wish they were real so I could hug them!
Thanks! They can be hard to draw sometimes, even as simplistic as they are. I saw an internet poll once asking who was the ugliest Simpson character and I remember seeing Mr. Burns on the list, but he had hardly any votes at all so I guess people really like him enough not to pick him. I can't remember who had the highest votes. XD I can think of one person, ~Smithers~ who thinks Burns his sexy. LOL
Maybe they just don't look past his age and see him for the adorably evil guy that we see him to be. He has always been a fan favorite, but I think after that super-bowl commercial was when his level of adorability went off the chart!
After seeing my brother's failed attempts at Homer, I can appreciate that they're not so easy to draw. :3
He looks damn good for 104. He doesn't even really have wrinkles; just some lines under his eyes. I think it's more Burns' boniness and moles than his face that makes some people cringe. I see comments like "THAT'S SO GROSS" and I don't know if they mean that a man would have a fantasy about another man or that they think Burns is just gross-looking (like in Smithers' birthday cake fantasy, which I think is adorable).
He's so damn cute! I just saw that the first time a few months ago. It made me happy that he had Smithers for sale at a much higher price than all of his priceless art. Still one hell of a bargain, though.
The older writers always talk about how much they love writing Burns and Smithers together. I wish they'd have large roles in more recent episodes. And be in-character.
Lol I've been gone from here for a few days, so I just got your message. I've been very busy (washing machine freaking out and nearly falling throught the floor) but I finally found the time to write the last couple of nights and I'm almost done with the next chapter so it should be posted soon. Maybe tonight or tomorrow. I'm glad you are interested!
What it's about... lol! Just so you're warned, lots of mature content and a couple of funny moments thrown in! That's all I can say! All written in hopes of keeping it not too trashy of course. I'll just have to break out a few of my Mom's old romance novels from the garage to try to keep my language tame and tasteful.(if possible XD)
Ugh, I know. The appliances in my house are always malfunctioning, too. It feels so good to get back to writing after a break, though, doesn't it? I just started working on my novel again, and I'm so excited about it!
Mature content is fine by me, and funny moments are always a good thing! I often get guidance from other books too: for example, I'm homeschooled, so I'll look at school stories for information when I write a scene that takes place in a school.
Oh man, that was adorable! Thanks for the link! I saw people talking about it yesterday and I had no idea what they were going on about! I'm glad someone made it!
It's kind of shocking seeing all of the homophobic comments on the vid though. It's like the homophobes suddenly were forced to deal with something gay and they just short-circuited or something! It was also fun to see so many people actually praising the vid. Burns/Smithers had more fans than I thought! Maybe things like videos and fanfiction will spread the love! XD
Thankyou! I've been so distracted lately, I wish I could post chapters more often, but I definitely won't give up. Glad to know people are still reading it! -new meddlesome OC alert, hope to post a pic of him soon-
You're welcome! ^^ You know, I think you update pretty soon your story, and your chapters are so long that the wait was worthing it each time. The only thing that matters is the quality of the chapters, not the time readers have to wait until reading it. I wish I could update my stories so fast as well! Anyway, keep writing and drawing about Waylon and Monty!!
